CRMC Calendar: Lunch & Learn on "Medical" Marijuana: The Unintended Consequences

WHAT: Capital Region Medical Center is accommodating a Lunch & Learn titled, “’Medical’ Marijuana: The Unintended Consequences”, sponsored by the Council for Drug Free Youth. This lunch and learn will incorporate stories and outcomes from states that have legalized marijuana. The group will discuss addiction and how it relates to social issues, self-medication, coping skills, stress, depression, and the marijuana-opioid connection. Additionally, the presentation will address information regarding legal issues and the importance of prevention measures and education of youth, parents and the community regarding the unintended consequences.

WHO: Presenting on the topic will be Dr. Joy Wanner Sweeney, Executive Director of CDFY

WHEN: Wednesday, April 4 from 12:10 to 12:50 p.m.

WHERE: Oakview Conference Room at Capital Region’s Southwest Campus, 1432 Southwest Blvd., Jefferson City, Missouri
