Capital Region Procures UV Disinfectant Device

JEFFERSON CITY, MO – This week Capital Region Medical Center installed the Atlas UV Disinfectant Device.  Developed by AAON, a US based manufacturing team who specialize in HVAC for commercial use, the Atlas device uses UV-C to disinfect materials such as masks.

“We are extremely grateful for the work of AAON to develop this technology, provide installation and training to help keep our healthcare workers and patients safe,” said Martin Grabanski, facilities director at Capital Region Medical Center. “Under their guidance we’ve developed a plan to disinfect masks to increase the longevity and safety of the N95’s”

In the midst of the pandemic we are finding innovative ways to improve the health and wellness in our communities. With “outside the box” thinking and new partnerships CRMC is advancing care while providing a safer work environment.

The Atlas UV Disinfectant Device has been designed to provide a dosage of UVC when activated that exceeds the amount required to eliminate 99% of SARS-SoV-2, the virus that causes the disease, COVID-19. In a session lasting less than two minutes up to 36 masks can be disinfected. This is the first device to be deployed in the U.S.
