Diabetes Self-Management Workshop

 

The Diabetes Self-Management Workshop is a free, six-week series that is ideal for people with diabetes or pre-diabetes and their caregivers. Participants will learn skills to help successfully manage diabetes and ways to take control of their health. Topics of the workshop include:

  • How to monitor blood sugar and prevent complications
  • Skin and foot care basics
  • How to manage sick days
  • Exercise and nutrition
  • How to manage pain, fatigue, difficult emotions and depression
  • Medications and treatment decisions
  • How to talk with family, friends and healthcare providers

Classes meet for 2 ½ hours, once a week for six weeks. This series will be held on Tuesdays, Oct. 10, 17, 24, 31, Nov. 7 and 14 from 2:00 – 4:30 p.m.
