CRMC Calendar: Diabetes Self Management Workshops in Miller County

JEFFERSON CITY, MO - Capital Region Medical Center is hosting a Diabetes Self-Management Workshop. This free, seven-week series is ideal for people with diabetes and their caregivers in Eldon and Lake Ozark, Missouri. 

Participants of the Diabetes Self-Management Workshop will learn skills to help successfully manage diabetes and ways to take control of their health. Topics include: 

  • How to monitor blood sugar and prevent complications
  • Skin and foot care basics
  • How to manage sick days
  • Exercise and nutrition
  • How to manage pain, fatigue, difficult emotions and depression
  • Medications and treatment decisions 
  • How to talk with family, friends and healthcare providers

The Eldon Diabetes Self-Management Workshop will be held at the Eldon Community Center located at 309 E 2nd Street, Eldon, MO. This seven-week series will be held on Tuesdays, Feb 5, 12, 19, 26, Mar 5, 12 and 19 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm.

The Lake Ozark Diabetes Self-Management Workshop will be held at the Lake Ozark Fire Protection District located at 1767 Bagnell Dam Blvd., Lake Ozark, MO. This series will also be held on Tuesdays, Feb 5, 12, 19, 26, Mar 5, 12 and 19 from 6:00 – 8:30 PM.FREE comprehensive metabolic panel, lipid panel and hemoglobin A1c are included for this event. Further details will be provided at the first session. Snacks will be provided and incentive gifts awarded at each session.
