Capital Region Announces 2018 Volunteer of the Year

JEFFERSON CITY, MO – Capital Region Medical Center Partners began the Volunteer of the Year Award program to recognize volunteers who have demonstrated the qualities associated with outstanding volunteer services. The award was presented at the Annual Partners General Meeting and Awards Luncheon, held at Reinhardt Circle on April 19, 2018.

Nominations were made by Capital Region employees and fellow volunteers, and nominations were based off of certain criteria necessary to be an exceptional volunteer. These criteria included demonstrating a caring and positive attitude towards patients, visitors, Capital Region employees and Partners; upholding good interpersonal skills; working well with hospital staff and volunteers; maintaining a professional appearance and good attendance record, as well as any additional contributions made above and beyond their regular duties.
The 2018 Volunteer of the Year Award was presented to Ken Bollinger, who has been a volunteer at Capital Region for 17 years. Ken is a familiar face to those who visit the Sam B. Cook Healthplex and Healthplex West, where he volunteers. He is known for arriving each morning at 4:15 to be ready to report for duty! Ken received many kind remarks from those who nominated him stating that he was kind-hearted, welcoming, friendly and a certain asset to the CRMC team!
Also recognized for their outstanding service are the following volunteers who were nominated: Sue Alberti, Rosemary Bushko, Melissa Calvaruso, Ken Fletcher, Linda Gerlt, Larry Hall, Jack Jerrett, Sharon Johnson, Joe Koskie, Sharron Koskie, Sara Krull and Linda Roark.
In 2017, the total number of hours volunteered to Capital Region was nearly 46,000 hours from over 250 volunteers, ranging in age from 14 to 90.
