Capital Region Receives Accreditation for Continuing Medical Education

JEFFERSON CITY, MO – Based on a recent Continuing Medical Education (CME) survey, the Missouri State Medical Association (MSMA) Commission on Continuing Education has awarded Capital Region Medical Center a six-year accreditation with commendation. This is the highest score accredited providers can obtain.

As an accredited provider, Capital Region is able to provide CME credits to physicians through several programs. The organization currently offers the following:

  • Capital Region’s Annual William D. Smittle, D.O., Healthy Review Primary Care Seminar
  • Capital Region Medical Center Clinic Round Table CME Presentations
  • Semi-annual Medical Staff Meetings CME Presentations
  • Monthly Tumor Board
  • Monthly Cancer Conference

The MSMA’s reaccreditation process is an opportunity for each accredited provider to demonstrate that its practice of CME is in compliance with the MSMA’s accreditation requirements through three sources of data, including a self-study report, a performance in practice review and an accreditation review.

Dr. Jeff Ehmke, CME Medical Director at Capital Region, says, ““This accreditation reaffirms Capital Region’s ongoing commitment to quality and to providing outstanding CME for providers. Not only do providers from Capital Region and the Jefferson City area benefit from our multiple educational offerings, but we are able to provide these services on a regional basis as well.”

Thank you to those who compiled the self-study report and participated in the accreditation survey. These individuals include Dr. Jeff Ehmke, Karen Ehmke, Nicole Hollowell, Michelle Bird, Poncho Klebba, Jennifer Atkins and Gretchen Nicholson.
