CRMC Calendar: Heart Health Month

  JEFFERSON CITY, MO-Throughout the month of February, Capital Region Medical Center is hosting several heart healthy events for National Heart Month. 

Heart Health Screenings will be held on Feb. 6 and 21 from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. at the Corporate & Community Health Office, located at Capital Region’s Southwest Campus. The screening includes a comprehensive metabolic panel (CMP) and lipid profile for a special price of $20 (regularly $40). A 12-hour fast is required, but water and black coffee are encouraged. No registration is required for this screening.
The Heart-to-Heart Support Group is hosting a luncheon for cardiac and pulmonary patients and their caregivers. The luncheon will be held on Thursday, Feb. 15 from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. in the Tunnell/Wherritt Community Conference Center at Capital Region. Community Benefits Coordinator, Betty Berendzen, RN, will present on “The Heart: Preventive Care for Me and My Family”. Lunch is sponsored by The Partners Auxiliary, and registration is required by Feb. 9 to attend.
Heart Risk Assessments will be provided on Saturday, Feb. 10 from 7:00 to 10:00 a.m. in the Cardiac Rehab area at the Sam B. Cook Healthplex. The assessment costs $25 and includes CMP & lipid profile, EKG, weight, body composition, BMI and blood pressure. A 12-hour fast is required, but water and black coffee are encouraged. Registration is not required, but is encouraged for the assessment.
