Diabetes Management Resources

JEFFERSON CITY, MO – Capital Region Medical Center provides patients with proper education and resources to manage their diabetes diagnosis. For patients with diabetes, prediabetes, gestational diabetes or their caregivers, Capital Region paves the road for success.

The Diabetes Self-Management Workshop is a free, six-week series that teaches participants the skills to successfully manage diabetes and ways to take control of their health. Topics include how to monitor blood sugar, skin and foot care basics, managing pain and fatigue, medication and treatment decisions and more. The group meets once a week for 2 ½ hours.

Diabetes 101 is a four-part series covering the basics of diabetes, including nutrition, exercise and pharmacy education. The class meets for four consecutive Tuesdays for one hour. On odd numbered months, the class meets from 12 to 1 p.m., and on even numbered months, the class meets from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Both classes are held in the Southwest Education Classroom at the Capital Region Southwest Campus located at 1432 Southwest Blvd. Registration is required, and class size is limited. To register or learn when the next series begins, call 573-632-5593 or visit www.crmc.org/events.
